Carlin Pinscher Parents

The name "Carlin Pinscher" applies to a type of dog currently being developed. Type, in this case, means dogs of a similar appearance. Although they bear a likeness to Rottweilers, they are not related, nor are Rottweillers used for breeding Carlins. Carlin Pinscher are not yet recognised as purebred dogs. A purebred dog is one that has a documented history of ancestry -called a pedigree- of many, many generations of the same type. Most Carlins have only one or two generations of documentation.

Here is a brief explanation of what 'F1', 'F2', etc. mean:

F1 denotes a dog who is the offspring of two purebreds, and is the first generation of the new 'breed'.
F2 = the offspring of two F1 dogs.
F3 = the offspring of two F2 dogs.And so on.
F1B = the offspring of an F1 and a purebred.
F2B = the offspring of an F2 and a purebred.
And so on.

I am currently registering my Carlins with United All Breed Registry. The registration paper come with a pedigree right on them. Not all Carlin Pinscher are the result of breeding a pug and a Miniture Pinscher, but all of mine are. If I should ever incorperate another breed into my Carlins it would say so on the webpage.

Our size goal for the Carlin Pinscher is 12-14 inches at the shoulder and a weight of 12-18 pounds. Currently my dogs are ranging between 6-20 pounds and 11-13 inches. Carlin Pinschers have a smooth, short coat that sheds a moderate to low amount. A Carlin Pinschers activity level is usually moderate. Carefully choosing moderately active parents means the puppies will grow to be moderately active dogs. All of my dogs are good with children of all ages. I do recomend puppy kindergarten. It makes for a more well mannered dog.
